Political ads cost $11 billion this cycle

The entire construct of political ads is ludicrous. Lying, exaggerating and deception come with no consequences. We the electorate must do our own research to determine the veracity of political speech. Where do we do our research? On the same sites and resources that permit the ads and questionable speech. This election cycle saw approximately $11 billion spent on political advertisements.
